I will take resumes to three of the top event planning companies here in Utah. Riehl Events, Shenanigans, and Mountain America Events Management.
Although I would ideally like to work for Riehl Events, it is important to create relationships with other people. The idea of being wanted and being able to choose whom you work for is a great and gives you more freedom.

I will create relationships and a network with 6 people in this industry by Fall 2008.
By delivering resumes and contacting these three companies, I hope to create relationships and gain knowledge that will help me in the future. Whether it be through a job or maybe just as a contact, those relationships are vital.

I will take more classes that allow me to exercise my creativity.
In this profession, creativity is going to be key. This is an industry that is constantly changing and I need to be able to use my creativity to stay on top of the changes or create changes of my own.


Impact

I will have a face-to-face interview with Riehl Events and one other company listed above during the Fall 2008.
I will prepare through the summer to be interviewed by two companies. I will learn more about each company and use the relationships that I have gained as a means to enter the field.

I will have an internship with Riehl Events by Spring 2009.
This will allow me to learn her style and the way things are handled and done with her company. I will be able to provide assistance and input on many events. My hard work and dedication will help me as I apply for a full time job with the company.

Upon graduation in May 2009 I will be working as an employee with Riehl Events.
I have been very impressed by this company and would be excited to work for them and provide my insight and creativity.
