Facebook! Who doesn’t have one? Today you are not socially accepted unless you have an account and at least 30 friends. In all seriousness though we really have altered the way we have relationships with other people because of this social networking site. Like was said in the article, we have gone from interacting with one another face to face to chatting with friends wall to wall. Now no one knows if this new way of communicating will have long-term negative effects but I don’t think any scientific research on the matter is going to change it any time soon.

INVESTORS WANTED IN NEW AND CREATIVE REAL ESTATE
LOGAN, Utah- ABC Real Estate is looking to give investors an opportunity to get involved in a new and creative way to sell and process properties. ABC Real Estate is the first and only company in Utah to offer this service and is excited to bring such a great opportunity to the middle class.
This idea uses a beneficiary directed equity holding land trust. The concept has been around for a while and was perfected in California, with many celebrities trying out this form of real estate. Bret Cob, president of ABC Real Estate, picked up this idea a couple of years ago and started using the practice along the Wasatch Front.
The concept consists of four investors, who all benefit from the partnership. One is the settler, the person who sells the house to ABC Real Estate. There are also investors that provide the down payment. They are also looking for those to invest by using their credit. Lastly there are the residents. These people are those that maybe don’t have great credit or they may not have enough money to provide a down payment but they can pay a monthly sum. Because the residents are part owners, they are much better at paying their monthly rent.
Cob said, “ There is minimal risk associated with the whole process. We have set up a system where, because the residents are part owners, they will pay and if they don’t, this company has the means to pay while the legal work is being taken care of.”
Another great thing about ABC Real Estate is they have also insured at least 10 percent to their investors should they sell, but Cob said it is likely that much more than that will be made. Cob said, “It is likely you can make up to 40 percent.”
Cob said, “This is a great opportunity that you do not want to miss out on. I have tested these areas personally and they can be very profitable to all involved. I myself am not interested in making money. I just want to help people.”
Bret Cob started ABC Real Estate in August of 2007 in Draper Utah. His creative investment ideas have seen great success in that area and he is now finding partners to offer the same opportunity to other areas of the state. He recently partnered with Evan Nielson to run an office that would service Northern Utah. With all the success the company has seen there are many plans for the future, including a web site to connect investors and also taking the concept to other surrounding states.

Job Hunters
I do not think that with the technology we have today that we should be at all surprised that employers may be looking at our online social networking page. It seems only natural that as our society becomes more technical the way our everyday lives function would go technical as well. I think that giving warning to those who are a part of social networking is great. Many times we get on our Facebook and MySpace accounts and think that only our friends can view. We deem inside jokes as funny and sarcasm to express personality. If this information is going to be available to future employers than maybe we should be thinking twice about the content of our web pages. Whether doing this is right or wrong, I think many people will appreciate the warning.

Netiquette
With all the advancements our society has seen in technology it is not surprising that much of our communicating is done through email and on the web. More and more, communication is not being done face to face and sometimes we may forget that we are dealing with a real person. We need to be careful with what we write and how we choose to use our words. Communicating over the Internet is great because, when we are dealing with people face to face, we may be judged by our appearance. When communicating on the web, the only aspect they can judge us on is how well we present ourselves and how well we write. This makes it all the more important to make sure that spelling and grammar have been checked. All in all the Internet is a great place to share knowledge and we should not be afraid to share what we know. Just be aware of the etiquette that should be used when using the Internet as a means of communicating.

Chelce,
You had expressed to me your frustration in trying to decide what to study while going to college and I think I found a profession that would be great for you.
The field is Public Relations or PR. Being a PR professional is a fun and exciting career. Just recently PR has started to blend with areas such as marketing, advertising and journalism.
Public relations, essentially, focuses on two-way communication and creating a beneficial relationship with an organization and its publics. They act as liaisons between the organization and the media and help establish and maintain effective relationships with third parties. With the assistance from media, they help gain public understanding and acceptance. Public relations are used as part of crisis management, new products or ideas, and even event planning.
In this profession, writing skills are imperative and you will find yourself doing lots of it. For instance you may write newsletters, media kits, brochures and you will be writing press releases. Press releases are tools sent out to many media outlets. They convey a particular message and if done well many of the media outlets will turn you press release into a news story.
I am currently studying public relations here at USU in Logan and I love it. I think it is such and exciting field and I think it is something that you would enjoy as well. If you have any other questions let me know. I can’t wait to hear back from you to see what you think. Talk to you soon.
Much Love,
Whitney
