LOCAL MAN HELPS PEOPLE GAIN FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE

LOGAN, Utah- Preston Parker, founder and president of Cache Valley Area Investors, offers bi-weekly classes to help local men and women gain financial independence.

Their were enough people who knew little about investing and were scared off by the risk involved that Parker saw the opportunity to educate. Parker’s goal with this new association is to educate people, which he says lowers the risk of their investments.

Parker said. “ We leave high school knowing what an ameba is but knowing nothing at all about finances. Where are the finance classes?”

Parker discusses his philosophy with its members that he believes people should be financially independent. He is also quick to add that money does not equate to happiness after a certain extent. Parker said the whole idea behind his organization is to instill in people a mind set, a new attitude about opportunities and ways to maximize them.

The main idea is to have both and earned and passive income. Parker said by doing this you give yourself more freedom to have a job that you truly enjoy to provide your earned income. You do not have to keep a job you hate because of the salary. Your passive income is you investments. This type of income can act as a supplement to you earned income and give you opportunities to pick and choose your earned income.

One of the ways he teaches members to invest is through peer-to-peer lending. Preston said nearly 20 to 30 percent on your lending is practically guaranteed. He also said if you have good credit and start investing you could be a millionaire in five years.

Parker began CVAIA in August 2007 in Logan, Utah after realizing people hated their jobs and frustrated in their lives. Although it is fairly new, it has around 30 members whose ages range from 20 to 55. The group meets every other Thursday at 7 p.m. for meetings at the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce located at 160 N. Main St. in Logan.

I liked it. I would only say that this is a press release and that means its goal is to make people want to write an article about it. Your press release had so much information that it was almost like an article. Take that for what it is worth. It was still fun to read!
